If you like that:
If I see a really great movie, I leave the theater debating whether I should watch it again just because it was incredibly satisfying. However, instead of watching a movie for a second time right away, I look for other movies that would make me feel that same emotion. Sure, there are sequels and remakes, but what I really want are different movies with similar underlying messages, character development, life stories, or humor.
This Friday’s “If You Like That, Then You Might Like This” features two incredible movies that are about inspiration, success, and what it means to leave a mark on the world or even just an individual. If you liked School of Rock, I recommend you watch Mr. Holland’s Opus. (If you haven’t even seen School of Rock, add that to the top of your to-do list.) If you’ve ever had a motivational teacher, mentor, parent, sibling, or friend, this will most likely mean something to you. The plot and pace of the movies are quite different, but ultimately you are left with comparable feelings that leave you with goose-bumps, and maybe even tears.
