For all you Bridget Jones lovers out there, you’re in luck! It is now official that a third movie will be made. Entertainment Weekly confirmed that the movie has been given the green light to move forth with production.
Working Title Films, the production company that created the first two movies, has been thinking about making a sequel since 2009. These adored movies are based on Helen Fielding’s novel.
The first film, Bridget Jones’ Diary, was released in 2001 with great success, grossing $281 million internationally. The sequel, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, was also successful earning $262 million. With the success the first two movies had, I’m sure the third one will do just as well.
Renee Zellweger, who gained a lot of weight to play the role, is a perfect Bridget Jones. If the plot isn’t too obvious and tacky, I think making another sequel is a great idea. Are you looking forward to a third Bridget Jones movie?
